Firstly, I have to preface this story with, I took a nap after work ... BUT in my defense it was a lazy, rainy day, and I felt the need to lay my head before dance class....
So--I was awoken by a little shakey shakey, thinking so many things in the 5 seconds.
1-Im Crazy
2-Im Dreaming
3-I have to find somewhere safe to stand under
4-Recent events of Haiti, and bad thoughts
5-A big truck drove by outside and shook the earth?? (Like at home on our gravel roads) This is unlikely.
It wasn't until I got to school the next day and the kids were asking me if I felt the Earthquake. We have discussed the recent Haitian disaster and so they were knowledgable about Earthquakes in general. I was a bit floored, like ... huh, I'm not crazy, the earth did shake.
I googled it and this news article came up:

The epicentre was outside of Seoul, but within this Province. It's magnitute was 3.0.The point mostly of this blog is that there was a role-reversal. It was hearing the student's stories from their home countries that made me feel "at ease" I suppose. We had a 15 minute chat about times they have felt Earthquakes at home (Iraq, Pakistan, Afganistan), and how things have fallen off walls, chairs falling over, getting under tables etc. It's true...knowledge and maturity don't always come with age...but experience.
Let's hope that little rumble was it for a while.
I had a quake in Seoul too! I thought it was a big truck also haha. The water in my cup sloshed. Also, this was a week after the mock air raids where the planes flew fast & low over the city.
