What a proud CANADIAN MOMENT!!! Men's Hockey Champs AND Olympic Gold Medal Champs! (14!!!)Nothing could make this day any better (besides maybe some shut eye).
Every North American teacher in Seoul was out in the middle of the night (Game time 5 am), sporting red and white or red, white and blue. 100s of us gathered at the Rocky Mountian Tavern to share our pride and of course some beers to go along. You could barely breath, it was SO packed. And lucky for us, today is Korean's Independence Day from Japan, so we can spend the day dreaming about GOLD!
There were definetly more Canadian than Americans there, based on the ratio of cheering from goal to goal...but when Crosby scored in OT......we all went CRAZY, down right CRAZY. Tonnes of champagne, cheering, hugging and screaming went down for minutes following the winning goal. Followed by a not so harmonic OH CANADA ... and Finally we broke it down with...
