First 1/2 Marathon!!!!!!!!!!!

It was the inspiration from my Sister, Jamie-Lynn (Boston Marathon champ!) and my good friends from work Lee and Deanna (Ultra-Marathon 100K champs), coupled with my desire to keep creating and achieving goals in life...that made a Half Marathon look pretty promising.
Lee put my friend Marcia and I on a training program, and it was many a nights on the Yangjaechon (the river by my house) and treadmills with our Ipods blaring that got us through those many-a Ks.
Finally the big day arrived (10.17.09), but not before a good nights sleep with lots of protein and water (says coach-Lee). Along with Jamie-Lynn's motto "Keep Smiles in your Miles."
This race had a 5K, 10K, 1/2 Marathon and 30K.
Deanna was my momma and helped me with my Bib!
I knew I was a bit hopeful, but I made 2 hours as my goal. But, hey 3 minutes over just means I have to keep kicking more butt and beat my time next time!

Marcia and I!

Marcia, Kelly and Emily kicked some BUTT in the 10K!!!!
Lee, Marcia, Deanna and I! Lee and Deanna have this running club with family and friends back home in Saskatchewan! The strange name Sea-Bass is a long story, but no matter what, what a fantastic support group :) Love you guys!

Great start! We ran along the Han River, which runs through Seoul. It was a windy day, but great for the heat!I sprinted over the finish line at 2:03:21 (because I didn't start right at the 0:00 mark). The clock is a bit more.
Of course, the Koreans LOVE to drink :) I can't pass up it up, but my first drink wasn't water...it was RICE WINE (Makgeolli!) hahaha
Real Gold I tell ya :)
Now...time to put my feet up :)
Can't wait until next time!
