Jeju-Do: Korean Hawaii Island!

Back to the travel scene in less than a week of landing. This time, the surroundings are a bit more familar. My friend from work, Marcia, and I went to the Korean Hawaii called Jeju Island. It is just south of main land South Korea. It's really beautiful there, it has 4 gazillion museums that make ya go 'huh.' Lets see...Teddy Bear Museum, Male Sea Turtle Museum, Tangerine Museum, Citrus Museum. There are at least 50 museums....we did hit up a few. We also went in a submarine!! We took a boat out to the middle of the water, and climbed down the sub. We saw some cool fish, and a diver, a sting ray and some coral. Marcia ending up feeling her cookies turn a bit near the end...as did many I could tell. I'd been through some rough tides in Thailand...so perhaps my body was like "Oh, this again eh?" Jeju doesn't have much of a night life...it's more of a place to visit, than to live in my opinion. We found some little restaurants, attempted a movie, but fewer english options than in Seoul. Thus we had some early nights, and early mornings. BEACH DAY!! So gorgeous. We hit up two different beaches and the sun beammmmed. So much that Marcia is now (5 days later) peeling her forehead off like a snake. Poor girl. We both got burned, with sunscreen. Wouldn't be so bad, except with our 'yellow hair' and red skin...we were outcasts since Koreans guard themselves like CRAZY from the sun!! Im talking FULL clothes in the water, beach FULLLLL of Parasols. I counted, in the water there was me and 3 other people in bathing suits. Everyone else had shirts and/or shorts on haha. Hey, their skin will last longer. It's a fact, I'm okay with this. Later we went to some caves that were left over from the volcano that erupted 2.5 million years ago. Mount Halla is the name, and we went for a hike on our last morning to have a boo at it. Super cool, and a really important part of Jeju's history. Now...one more week of holidays. Got some things up my sleeves! Then back to the old grind!
